Lovella (Shorty) Ashby

Lovella (Shorty) Ashby, age 92 was born in Halfway (Eastpointe) and passed away on May 11, 2020 in Holt, Michigan. Beloved mother to John (Deena), Ronald (Brenda) and Gail (Joseph) Minjoe. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) in 2007 after being married for 61 years. Treasured grandmother of Stacey (Steve) Kimbrell, the late John (Valerie) Ashby, Jacob (Carolyn) Ashby, Sandra (Daniel) Lupinek, Ronald Ashby, and Marci (Sunshine)-(Angela) Lovan. Proud and adored great grandmother of 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces & nephews.

Lovella was also predeceased by her parents Michael and Geletza, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Lovella loved sewing, camping, cooking. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, warmth, genuineness, and most importantly, her unwavering love for her family. Lovella will be missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her.

Her beautiful smile will be missed but we will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
