John Charles Buhrie

December 5, 1946 — April 18, 2025

John C. Buhrie of St. Clair Shores, born December 5, 1946 passed away on April 18, 2025.  Born and raised in the Shores, graduating from Lakeview High School he was a socialite from the start.  He had been a member of the student council, class president; even continuing to be a part of the reunion committee for decades.  He has been a treasurer multiple times throughout life and enjoyed bookkeeping.  He attended Macomb Community College classes for business and creative writing.  He learned Japanese and traveled to Japan.  He made his career in construction; driving a tandem gravel train and being able to operate all the heavy equipment.  

A proud member of the Teamsters Union. Ultimately retired from UAW.  He loved to dance, sing, play guitar, travel, story writing, Elvis, NASCAR, friends family, God, animals, babies women, being a leader in teaching, helping those less fortunate and loves ones in need. 

Preceded in death by his father Walter Buhrie and devoted mother Coral H. Buhrie.  Siblings Rea, Marilyn, Theresa, and Wally Buhrie, and son Johnny.  He is survived by his daughter Scarlette (William Wolf) Buhrie; Granddaughters Melody (Troy Kelel) Buhrie, and Savannah Byrum; Grandson Liam Spang, and Brother William (Rose) Rinn, and several nieces and nephews whom adored him deeply and he played an active role in their lives, always brining warmth, unwavering support, humor, and special kind of magic to every gathering.

Hubba, Johnny Angel, Uncle John, Dad, beloved Papa...has left behind a legacy of love and integrity.
