Christopher Nitz

Christopher Nitz, beloved son of Elmer and Irene Nitz, was born on July 5, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan. He peacefully left this world on October 15, 2023, at his residence in Eastpointe, Michigan. 

Chris's service in the United States Army extended beyond the military as he dedicated himself to various organizations within his community. He proudly held the title of a 4th degree Knight at the Knights of Columbus and served as an usher at St. Basil Church. These roles allowed him to deeply engage with those around him and offer support to those who needed it most.

In addition to his numerous charitable endeavors, Chris had four children - Chris Jr., Stephanie Shrauner, Julie Nitz, and Emily Nitz, numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Chris is survived by his brother John (Patricia) Nitz, sister Cheryle Olceski, and sister Barbara (Gary) Alexander. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Ron Nitz, Elmer Nitz Jr., Federick Nitz, and Cathy Worley. Christopher will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.  

A caring cremation was entrusted to Walter Scott Skupny Funeral Home, 28605 Gratiot Ave. Roseville, Michigan
