Adelaide Guinness

Adelaide slipped away peacefully to return home and reunite with Thomas, her lifelong sweetheart & beloved husband of 56 years, on December 17, 2018.

Addie, first and foremost, was home maker to Tom and her family where she took particular interest in baking, decorating, and gardening. Her hobbies included sewing, needlepoint, golf, and shopping. Adelaide was employed with the J. L. Hudson Company, later Macy’s, where her attention to customer service and all things fashion lead to numerous sales awards and a management position. She concluded over 25 years in this field as a trunk show organizer with Gettleman’s. During retirement Addie enjoyed Tom’s company, traveled, and snow birded between Michigan and Florida.

Adelaide was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents, Arthur and Caroline Green; and sister, Audra Murphy.

She is survived by Susan Pelchat, John Guinness (Barbara), and Sandra Guinness Lupini (David). In addition to her children there are her grandchildren, D. Thomas Pelchat (Karen), Caroline Lupini, and Feira Lupini; and great-grandchildren, Jessica Pelchat and Shawn Pelchat.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. N., Naples, FL 34108. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.

Adelaide will be laid to rest in Michigan at Sacred Heart Cemetery on January 29, 2019 at 10am.
